Joe Halko was born in Great Falls, Montana, in
1940. He grew up with a love of Montana's outdoors, spending his time both hunting and
observing wildlife, which led him to an interest in taxidermy and, later, in sculpting.
Joe now lives in Choteau, Montana, and finds his inspiration in the Rocky Mountain Front's
wilderness and wildlife preserves.
