Bob Barlow, a Wyoming native, is the
son of a pioneer ranching family. Although his home and studio are in Montana, his love of
outdoor painting take him to many parts of the world. His most recent travels abroad have
included, most notably, Prague, Czech Republic where he has spent several months each year
since 1991. Other favorite painting places are East Africa, Russia, the canyons of the
Southwest, and the Canadian Rockies. The landscapes of Wyoming and Montana will continue
to inspire Barlow's work most of all.
Passionate about his painting and being outdoors in the landscapes he paints, Bob Barlow
recalls wanting to be an artist since he was ten. "I knew I wanted to be an artist. I
wanted to be good. I wanted to be professional about it. Now, it's a total passion for
me."
